Americans’ Savings Rate At Great Depression Levels

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis the personal savings rate was a negative 1% for the year. During the Great Depression the savings rate was a negative 1.5% just to put things in perspective. The personal savings rate is calculated by subtracting personal spending from disposable personal income.
