The Spending Diaries

Posted on May 4, 2007

New York magazine recently had an introspective look at spending among six New Yorkers from varying degrees of income.  First, the feature starts out with the grad student living on 20K, then the junior professional on 50K, the mid-career fund-raiser on 150K, the investment banker on 700K, and finishes with the trader and his wife living on over one million.  Spending in NY is like no other place due to the environment and ease of access to sidewalk cafes, restaurants, corner stores, and all other forms of window shopping.  Marketing and temptation to spend is unparalleled when walking the streets of Manhattan.
