Top Five Reasons To Start a Personal Finance Blog
Posted on May 9, 2007
Problogger.net is hosting a Top-5 Group Writing Project in which everyone submits a top five blog entry and the winner gets $1001 from Chitika. So having had my personal finance blog going for a few weeks now, I am going to advise anyone out there that is on the fence about starting a personal finance blog to go for it. Here are my top five reasons for starting a personal finance blog:
- It’s a great writing exercise. Who cannot use more practice writing? I definitely can use some brush up with it, and I am sure judging by some of the technical documents that come across my desk at work many others can as well.
- Meet new people with interesting life experiences. Having had this blog only a few weeks I have already met many fellow bloggers and web surfers that have tons to say. There is a cool community out there that is ready to lend advice or experience for any question you ask.
- Practice what you preach. If you are going to post about personal finance, saving, and investing how can you not take your own advice. Blogging keeps personal finance concepts fresh in your head, making it much easier to follow through and meet your long term goals.
- Maybe you will make some money. Don’t count on it, but if it happens it’s all the better. My goal is to improve my content, learn more personal finance strategy, share with others, and ignore the blog statistics for many months.
- Helping others. What if you write that one post that helps someone in need of serious personal finance advice?
