Carnival of Personal Finance: 102nd Edition
Posted on May 30, 2007
MoneySmartLife.com does a very cool and creative job of hosting the 102nd edition of the Carnival of Personal Finance. With a diverse music selection, he puts many of the posts to a song. I think we have some of the same music tastes as I have been a fan of quite a few of the selections. All entries were high quality content, but some of the ones that stood out for me were:
Costly Secrets Cosmetic Companies Don’t Want You To Know. Definitely forwarding this one on to my girlfriend. She is always looking for ways to save on cosmetics, but seems to be finding ways to spend on cosmetics even more often.
Why Your Next Mattress Will Never Be Free. We just bought a mattress and do I ever hate shopping for them. It is hard enough to determine if you can sleep eight hours on the mattress after testing it for 5 minutes, but with the high pressure sales tactics its not a fun experience. Not sure which I dread more: furniture, car, or mattress shopping.
Money in your checking account. Another major bank, Bank of America, offering monetary incentives to bring your business over to them. If it was not such a pain I think I would switch banks once a week for the incentives.
